Rhythm

Trevor Salloum has travelled the world on his rhythm. His music comes from deep within; you can feel it as he plays. I hope that these images give you at least a sense of his musical passion. Thanks Trevor.

Yoga teachers

I was in Summerland today working on assignment for the upcoming Okanagan Life mag. The fine people that I worked with today are training to become yoga teachers. Eager, cheerful, and willing to perform for the camera. Thanks so much to Dariel, Natasha, Nicole, Carrie and Yuko!

New strobe

Last evening I was playing around with a new studio strobe when our cat, Batch (named after Batchewaung Lake in Quetico Provincial Park) trotted in and settled in on our couch. Because I asked politely, he decided to let me work with him. He even let me put an extension onto my lens and work at very close range. The new light seems to be working perfectly. Batch's eyes and nose seem to be working perfectly as well.

nice people - fun lighting

Howdy!

Okanagan Life magazine has me out on assignment for their upcoming issue. I really enjoy working for the fine folks at Okanagan Life – they have introduced me to some great people. This assignment has been no different; I met and worked with two fine folks yesterday:

This is Bob Land – as true of a cowboy that I have or will ever meet.

What a great character. He has spent years in the saddle and has many a fine story to go along with them. He once led a large group from Warner Bros. Studios into the Chilcotin Mountains so they could take wilderness footage for use in their films. Imagine this, they used 200 lb glass cased batteries and it was 130 miles to the nearest place where they could be charged. No roads - Big work.
I found Bob, teaching others at his home, the craft of saddle and bridle making that he spent years developing. A warm-hearted, generous, genuine cowboy – it is a pleasure to have met you Bob.

Andrew James, commercial neon sign maker:

There is a beautiful art and dance when bending glass tubes and Andrew is the expert. We had some fun with these images - turning up the fires and playing with the light. Thanks Andrew!

Beautiful blue skies

What a beautiful day here in the Okanagan - a warm blue sky day that was just begging to be skied. Sarah and I cruised the day away at Big White. Warm sun, soft snow – what fun!

Westbank Chamber of Commerce

This is some of my recent work that has been completed for the Westbank Chamber of Commerce. Their tourism committee has been active in promotions and I have been honoured to be a part of this process. Lots of fun! Thanks to all who participated with me in making these dynamic and exciting images.

Earlier in 2007, the Chamber contracted me do make a number of activity based images for them. There are so many quaint tucked away corners on the Westside - waterfalls, trails, and lots of wildlife - what a pleasure!
