Bravo Mark! This is an issue that is out of sight/out of mind for so many of us even though it is incredibly important. Don Elzer did a great job with his watershed story in our upcoming April issue of Okanagan Life. Maybe I can get out there and help you one of these days.
When I was young I spent my free time exploring the fields, forests and ponds behind our home – I still do. My curiosity and eventual concern for the environment directed me to pursue an academic career focusing on ecology and the environment. I ended up graduating with a B.Sc. in Environmental Science from Trent University. Upon completion and in-between my academic and educational pursuits I have spent time working as a ski patroller in the winters and as a wilderness canoe guide – with camera at my side. I am now settled here into Kelowna, British Columbia with a much newer and fancier camera at my side. I love it here; wildlife and adventure abound here in the topographic and climatic diversity of British Columbia – this is my dream location.
